"Take Your Boss to Church" is the new anthem that has reached a high-pitched level.

Updated: Nov 26, 2023

Reality check: if your best friend can hear your high-pitched whine in the same pitch as their dreaded enemy, "the dog whistle," you have trouble at home and the workplace. Sadly, this has become the main topic of conversation at the dog park.

We love our best friends, our ride-or-die peeps, but we are sick of the complaining and daily commentary on how they had to "take their boss to church." True, this anthem mostly comes from Boomers because they still communicate vocally, not hiding behind their thumbs as their successor's preferred method. Work relationships are always a tightrope walk to keep teams balanced and working together cohesively. But, pre-pandemic work life was a daily face-off between Boomers and Millenials. Now, Post-pandemic and back in the office, we have added Gen Zers ( spawn of Millenials), who bring in a whole new level of dysfunction. The new mix has Boomers who have ingrained worth ethics bursting with frustration with Millenial bosses that don't measure success in terms of productivity. They don't care if a Gen Z employee spends hours daily on TikTok because so are they. This forces Boomers to internally scream "frickin' asshats" while simultaneously coming up with creative ways to take their Millenial Bosses to Church for many "come to Jesus moments." Millennials are hitting their Twitter feed with the injustice they suffer from putting up with Boomers at work, whom they have stereotyped as incapable of having new and inventive ideas and concepts. This proves that logic is out the window for Millenials and Gen Zers. Millennials want to complain about the people who show up for work and actually work. While the Gen Zers are on board for "loud quitting," lambasting their boss on Linkedin, Instagram, and TikTok because their asses were not adequately kissed on the days they decided to show up for work.

Comment:

Frankly, Jesus is witnessing the insanity we call life now, and he is not joining you all for a come-to-Jesus-moment; he is locking the doors to the church and running for the hills. His past challenges dealing with outcasts, battling Satan, facing traitors, and running from Pharisees would seem like a fun time compared to what's going on now.

Counselor Feedback:

The new realm of office politics endlessly feeds my empathetic soul. I owe special thanks to the Millennials for introducing the idea of bringing your dog to work, adding such depth to my life. Dogs are similar to humans in many ways; we breathe with lungs and hearts that circulate blood and are made up of organs such as the brain, liver, stomach, and intestines. We can communicate feelings such as joy, happiness, and love. But, the comparison stops at how to handle interpersonal relationships. Canines know when to run when to hide, and that the giant dog in the hood reigns. We follow hierarchy rules within our canine world, whereas humans post-Boomer Generation has thrown respect for hierarchy out the window. Respect for Elders is a non-existent theory as I observe generational warfare in the workplace. My heart bleeds for the richness in life the new generations are missing out on by not giving their elders the time and space to share their wisdom from a well-lived life. If they only realized life was on repeat, they could save themselves from trials and tribulations by listening and learning.

Facts: Boomers and Gen Xers are terrified of retiring, knowing who they are leaving control of the future to. They are waking up from nightmares where they are finally taking their big retirement vacation, and the plane goes into a nosedive and crashes because the mechanics and inspectors are Gen Zers. They take no solace in knowing the Gen Zer will respond to the news of their demise with their consistent refrain of "I'm so sorry about that. I appreciate you," aka as their getting out of jail-free card. The only upside is they will spearhead GoFundMe accounts to pay for the funerals of those lost to waive their generation's empathetic flag.

A great warning system for the office or home. 😁
